Peter Nencini & Photographic Investigations

Peter Nencini creates 3d collages using objects, and photographing these compositions. His work is basic but complex all the same, and adds a new perception towards the way we see things, specifically in terms of colour, pattern and layout. The work very much focuses on the textures produced, as well as the line that is used to form each composition.

I particularly liked the way he takes everyday objects and manipulates our idea of them. His focus on shape, line and pattern gave me inspiration to zoom in on materials or sections of things that are everyday and have great pattern to use within my development.

Below are photographs I took in the square format, to explore pattern and textures existing in textiles and how the patterns can come out differently when not a flat visual, as Nencini does.
