Object: Final Crit

Final Critique for object productions:

Record day albums
series: Political Protest Songs; Then and Now
x3
Cover, Sleeve, Back

Response:
  • Bigger font on the front of the cover for the titles could have more impact - some agreed and others felt it looked best not taking up the whole cover
  • Edge around? a white border might accentuate the image better
  • artificial vs digital - like the way the hand rendered type combines with the formal font to enable a contrast through the time and a new era of protest
  • whole text as tape? could be more grundy aesthetic - varying scales, relates nicely to the idea of placards and banners
  • well linked, the colours are relevant and the inverted back covers add a deeper depth and effect to the design
  • Back smaller?
  • Inconsistent colour wise - inner sleeve doesn't flow as well as it could, there is a stark difference that some said looked to random and others said added to the title and was a refreshing contrast that did link in other ways (sink in practical rather than in theory)
