Editing the film pictures allowed for a more coherent colour palette to be sought and for imperfections in the background to be edited out - such as electric lights which did not really adhere to the theme.
As various cameras were used the visual aspects of the photograph vary as a series, so selecting a few for print needs to consider if the design wants to cover different visual qualities or keep a coherent output.
Conclusion: as the stronger photographs are spread out, the use of various outputs only adds to the randomness of the images themselves, and does not confuse the viewer, as their focus is on the content more.
