Isle of Dogs Exhibition

In contrast to the mini models, the gallery space transformed a micro scene to life, creating a real-life upscaled ramen restaurant that replicated the model made for the film set. Here visitors could eat and socialise / move around in the space as envisioned in the stop motion animation
This was a great example of where micro and macro settings have been used effectively and creatively. This idea of bringing concepts to life, and planning how people can react within a space.

The materials colours and textures are planned out, it is a great way to see and stage the immersive environment - essentially set design, seeing how visually one can design an environment and then upscaling to see how people interact and exist within the environment

Note:
Although this initial idea was disregarded, the investigation into set design and how to upscale ideas from paper into reality for the set of an event / photographic tale was necessary into the productions success. Planning layout, lighting and space were all important considerations into the final compositional outcomes of the photographs. For example, the colour of the tablecloth was white, which on reflection was too similar to the wall colour, a darker table cloth may have been more successful, however by putting wall hangings up this was diffused.
