It was important for the book cover to be vibrant and colourful, whilst adhering to the format of an A5 book. Popping colours would allow for it to stand out and attract viewers. the manipulation to mirror the front cover of the back to create a reflective depiction was informed by the idea that the correct layout can enable a more visually pleasing aesthetic, and symmetrical things are psychologically more attractive for people.
Another design decision was to depict imagery that replicates the colours found in the colour swatches. This gives visual representations and allows the book to be more engaging to an audience, with a diversity away from the informative sections.
The book needed to flow and have consistency, thus the colour selected were not to clash or jar against each other. By placing shades of complimentary colours together, this allowed for a more relaxed and pleasant visual representation, instead of the high chroma versions.
